Prof. Ram Achar is a Professor in the Department of Electronics at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, where he has been a faculty member since 2000. He received his B.Eng. in Electronics Engineering from Bangalore University, India, in 1990, his M.Eng. in Microelectronics from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India, in 1992, and his Ph.D. from Carleton University in 1998. His research spans signal and power integrity analysis, high-speed interconnects, circuit modeling, simulation and optimization, parallel algorithms, model-reduction techniques, and CAD for RF, MEMS, wireless, and optoelectronic applications, as well as EMC/EMI and mixed-signal circuit analysis. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, recognized in 2013 for contributions to interconnect and signal integrity analysis, and a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada, and a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario. He serves as a Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE Electron Devices Society and IEEE Electronics Packaging Society, chairs the Distinguished Lecturer program of the IEEE EMC Society, and holds leadership roles with EPEPS, EDAPS, and SPI.

Prof. Achar has published more than 250 peer-reviewed articles, six multimedia books on signal integrity, and five book chapters, and has delivered over 100 invited talks worldwide. His honors include the Bharat Gaurav Award, two Carleton University Research Achievement Awards, and the NSERC Doctoral Medal for outstanding doctoral research.
